Background
A University in Victoria was constructing a new lecture theatre and accommodation. They had contractors involved regarding specialist drilling equipment to penetrate, into geothermal water for energy efficient heating and cooling the redeveloped college. The contractors required a water treatment solution.
Objective
As a result of drilling into thermal depths and producing mass water along with bringing drill mud to the surface, the University’s contractors needed an intelligent water treatment solution to eliminate large transport and disposal costs. The water treatment solution had to reclaim water for reuse during drilling, dust suppression and construction activities.
Solution
PR Water were commissioned to deploy a HB20 Lamella Clarifier and Chemical Dosing Unit to treat the water for reuse and managed the mud of approximately 50 kiloletres per day, ensuring the environmental expectations had been achieved.
